I was born in Iran during the 1978 Revolution and I’ve stayed very close to my Iranian heritage.
The current strife and political unrest in the middle-east led me to create BeCause-- a social media forum maintained by volunteers to spread awareness about the ongoing human rights struggles in the Middle East. This social movement was launched during the 2009 Green Revolution and became the driving force and outlet of Iranian youth groups yearning to be heard. We became their voices.
I am also a member of the Iranian-American Women Foundation. Our mission is to provide a platform of empowerment and mentorship for Iranian-American women of all ages.
Venice Arts mission: To ignite, expand, and transform the lives of Los Angeles’ low-income youth through photography and film education, and use our participatory storytelling practices to amplify the voices of underrepresented communities around the world.
I gathered a group of creative professionals to help paint the Venice Arts studio gallery space, educate and mentor the student, and I organized a partnership with Hermosa Film Festival to feature the students creative work.
A fund-raising event I organized at Saatchi & Saatchi LA to raise money for Women's Cancer Research. I pulled together over fifty volunteers, and as a team, we produced a website, flyers, and posters to promote the event. The party was a blast! Participants enjoyed beer and pizza, and competed in challenges of foosball, ping-pong, video games, Rock Band, arm wrestling, pool, and of course Wii boxing. The crowd went wild for the main event, as our receptionist defeated our Executive Creative Director with her fierce boxing skills. Between raffling off a Wii, and collecting donations for challenges and refreshments, the event raised enough money to put us over our $20K goal.
